When did you start Crossfit and why did you choose OP?

I started CrossFit in 2017. My home gym back in Nashville, TN is CrossFit Trivium. After going to a regular gym for awhile, I decided to try out CrossFit and I have loved it ever since. Fast forward to 2019, after getting stationed at Langley, I started searching for another box to get back into CrossFit. After trying my first and last box, I was sold on choosing OP.

What was your first workout/most memorable workout?

I think the most memorable workout would have to be Fran. When I started, I could not Rx any of the workout. Slowly over time, I was able to get the weight, then the kipping pull-ups, and finally the butterfly pullups.

How has Crossfit and the OP community helped you accomplish your goals?

My goals right now are to lose weight and get faster. The OP community helps me a ton here, because there are a lot of athletes to look up to and especially chase during workouts

What are your favorite Crossfit movements & why?

My favorite CrossFit movements would be Olympic lifts and gymnastics movements. I like both of these categories because of how technical they are, as well as how satisfying it is to achieve each movement.

What is your proudest Crossfit accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment would be the life I am able to live outside the box because of CrossFit. When you combine that with an awesome nutrition plan, you just feel great all the time.

What’s something memorable you’ve realized or learned while being at OP?

The coaches are really good at giving amazing advice on all movements. I think my most memorable moment was just recently when Coach Eric casually walked by me during open gym and told me to use my hips for my butterfly pull-ups. That was literally life changing advice LOL.
