When did you start Crossfit and why did you choose OP?

I started Crossfit October 2017. I chose OP because Alan told me it was the best Crossfit gym ever. He’s been right.

What was your first workout/most memorable workout?

Sarah Tucker convinced me to come to the fitness pop up at Oozelfinch. I was a little nervous with so many people there. Everyone was so nice. The workout was challenging (box jump! I’d never heard of that) yet doable. The group I was in was so much fun. The whole morning was a great experience. I said if this is Crossfit then I want to join.

How has Crossfit and the OP community helped you accomplish your goals?

I really missed the group PT I had done in the Navy. I was really bored working out by myself and would usually just not workout. I love how encouraging everyone at OP is and they definitely keep me accountable.

What are your favorite Crossfit movements & why?

I love anything with the barbell. I love that each week I get a little bit stronger.

What is your proudest Crossfit accomplishment?

I know it’s silly, but being able to jump on a 24” box.

What’s something memorable you’ve realized or learned while being at OP?

Honestly, I have learned 2 things. First, that I can do it. I loved watching other people do CrossFit but never thought I would be doing it. Obviously, I scale to what I can actually do, but every day I am so proud that I am there.

I also learned that I work out with some amazing people. Usually I am the youngest person at the 530am class, these ladies are serious workout goals.

More from Erin:
