More Fun Facts:

What superpower would you want to possess?

Super Speed because I couldn’t imagine what I could get done in a day! But power of healing would be a CLOSE second.

What’s your favorite Cheat Meal?

Pizza, but truthfully it’s the sweets that get me most!

When did you start Crossfit and why did you choose OP?

I started Crossfit January 2018 and when we got transferred to Ft. Eustis I wanted to continue. I msg’d OP before moving and Dani responded quickly back so it was my first (and only) stop. Being military… you really miss family and OP has filled a little bit of that void.

What was your first workout/most memorable workout?

I did the Morrison Hero WOD in my first week of starting Crossfit and then after being at OP few months I had to do it again. I thought I was going to die the first time… and wasn’t looking forward to it. I must have gotten really good at wall balls because I SMOKED my first time AND I was close to halfway through my pregnancy at that. Reminded me how much I was still improving despite “my condition” 🙂

How has Crossfit and the OP community helped you accomplish your goals?

I had just found out I was pregnant when I started at OP, so I just wanted to maintain a healthy lifestyle – come in 3 times a week and make it to the end of my pregnancy. Here I am less than 2 weeks away from my due date and still showing up! All of OP (special thanks to my fellow 9ers) has made it easy to be honest, the encouragement to keep going and my 2 year old Eden loves coming with. Give me a couple months and I hope to be hitting some heavy weights on Snatch and Cleans 🙂

What are your favorite Crossfit movements & why?

Anything with the barbell! Cleans in particular – it works so many different parts of the body and nothing gets me more pumped than a big PR in the clean.

What is your proudest Crossfit accomplishment?

175 lb. power clean was pretty fun.  Anything that involves gymnastics is a struggle for me and although I can only do 2 kipping pull ups right now… it was pretty cool when I first started to get 2 then 4 then 8 in a row and just see my strength and ability grow each week.

What’s something memorable you’ve realized or learned while being at OP?

I was a little hesitant (thanks to google) to do much weights and certain movements when I found out I was pregnant, but the coaches and other athletes who had made it through pregnancy while doing crossfit made me feel comfortable. Listening to my body was probably the biggest thing I learned-although not always easy to do. There are two days that I know I overdid it and had to reevaluate where I was. I might be able to do box jumps one day and the next I would have to do step ups. I haven’t pushed for any PRs on the barbell, but have still been able to maintain a much higher weight on the bar than I ever thought possible. Dani really helped me modify movements, but still made it challenging at the same time. I can’t wait to see how these efforts over the past 9 months help me in the weeks to come.

Join us in wishing Lindsey a happy & healthy final few days of pregnancy and a quick recovery for her to join us again soon!
